The Mount Vernon Housing Authority met
recently to review damage reports after the
round of storms. No significant damage was
reported.
Executive Director Terri Austin reported
that Cloverleaf had no vacant apartments.
Damage reported during the storms was
minimal. Necessary work has already been
completed. No claim was submitted to the
insurance company.
She said she is still working with Suprema
on the repairs needed on the roof. She added
that work on the entry and sidewalks were
completed.
Austin then told the board that the public
Housing Reporting Rate (50058s) went from
40.6 percent in January to 100 percent by
the end of August.
Austin then presented the Section 8 report
that was prepared by Sue Lindenberg.
According to the report, 198 families are on
the waiting list.
Section 8 currently has 152 families
participating in the program. Section 8 is
also expending all its appropriated funds at
this time.
Section 8’s Housing Reporting Rate went from
72.6 percent in January to 96.10 by the end
of August.
Austin then offered the financial report.
The report included the Capital Fund balance
for 2005 and 2006, Operating Fund balance,
checking account balance for Section 8 and
the public housing account.
She added that a CD was transferred from
Fifth Third to First Bank, where the rate
increased from 3 percent to 5.75 percent.
Board member Andy Weintraut was appointed to
be the vice president of the Mount Vernon
Housing Authority Board to finish out the
year.
The board also set a budget committee to
