The Posey County Sheriff’s Office has released arrest totals for the month of July. Once again, more alcohol-related arrests were made than those for drugs.
Local law enforcement officers made 14 alcohol-related arrests last month.
Nine people were arrested for driving while intoxicated. Three minors were arrested for possession. Two people were arrested for public intoxication.
Officers reported 13 drug-related arrests. Only one meth lab was found. It was an active lab, which means it was located while manufacturing could be or was done.
To date, 127 alcohol arrests have been made in 2006. Seventy-three arrests have been made for driving while intoxicated. Thirty-four people have been arrested for public intoxication, while 20 minors have been arrested for possession of alcohol.
To date, 64 drug-related arrests have been made. Thirty meth labs have been processed by the Posey County Narcotics Unit.
While the arrests totals are presented by the Posey County Sheriff’s Office, the arrests counted are made by the Indiana State Police, Mount Vernon Police, Conservation Officers and Posey County Sheriff’s Office.
