The Poseyville Town Board met last week to
review the cemetery mowing contract and
approve additional money to help pay for
mowing.
Ken Gorbett spoke on behalf of Cemetery
Board President Myron Westfall who was
unable to attend. Gorbett said that the
mowing contract is up March 2007 and asked
if the town would be willing to take over
the mowing.
Gorbett added that there is improvements
needing to be made and money is going to run
out soon. He said the current mowing
contract is for $23,600 for the two-year
contract period.
Gorbett also said that the board was asking
for an addition $2,500 in the cemetery
budget to help pay for the mowing for the
2007 budget. After some discussion, the
board members agreed.
Gorbett then told the board that Steve
Schenk, of the Posey County Highway
Department, is going to be grating a new
road into the Cemetery. The town will
dispose of the dirt. He asked if the town
would be willing to help with the cost of
the rock. The board members agreed after
some discussion.
Jeremy Farrar reported that he submitted a
revised plan to IDEM’s Office of Land
Quality to close out the lagoon. She said
the representative he spoke with indicated
they had received the revised plan.
Farrar also indicated that the land
application permit has been submitted to
IDEM. IDEM had reviewed and needed a map of
the area, which he sent.
Poseyville Fire Chief Bud Fehribach wanted
to remind everyone of the Chicken dinner to
be held on Aug. 20, at the Community Center
from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $8 per
adult and $3 for children.
The street department commented that David
Enterprises had been back in Town sweeping
streets.
The board passed Resolution 2006-08-09-01 to
transfer funds between appropriation
accounts.
Ordinance 2006-08-09-01 was submitted to
change salary ranges. The board approved the
ordinance.
Reynolds submitted a request to release the
remaining retainage amount of $12,200 in the
July meeting. The matter was tabled until
the board’s next meeting.
The board voted to pay the claims.
Judy Voegel approached the board to ask for
the board’s permission to have E. Fletchall
from her house to 124 E. Fletchall could be
blocked of on Sept. 16, for a block party.
She said all side roads would be left open.
She also indicated she had spoken with all
neighbors and they agreed. The board agreed
and said they were glad to see this
happening.
The next meeting of the Poseyville Town
Board will be Sept. 13, at 6 p.m. at the
Community Center. |
