Members
Of The Bob Bulkley family gathered in Mount
Vernon Friday for the long-awaited ground
breaking of new Expressway auto complex.
The 20-acre site at the intersection of
Indiana highways 62 and 69 will be the new
home for Expressway Auto World and
Expressway Ford. Also located at the site
between the two dealerships will be
Expressway Credit Express.
Expressway Auto World, which has the
franchises for General Motors vehicles
Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac and GMC, will
total 43,750 square feet.
Also occupying 43,750 square feet will be
the new Expressway Ford dealership with Ford
and Mercury vehicles.
Credit Express will occupy 18,750 total
square feet.
The total complex will accommodate 1,680
vehicles.
The complex should be completed by February
with an opening in March 2007, said
Expressway spokeswoman Debi Michelsen.
Bulkley, who graduated from North Posey High
School in 1962 and was raised in Griffin,
owns the Expressway Dodge dealership in
Evansville.
Bulkey’s wife, Liz, along with his two sons,
Bryan and Derrick, will oversee the new
complex.
Purchased in 2002 was Expressway Chevrolet,
which was later renamed Expressway
AutoWorld.
In 2005, the Bulkley family acquired Mount
Vernon’s Expressway Ford-Mercury dealership. |
