The Posey
County Board of Zoning Appeals met last week
to approve three requests and disapprove two
requests.
The first request approved was a Special Use
permit for Stacy and Shelley Barnett for a
single wide mobile home on Lot 2A and 3 of
Charles Dickens Subdivision, more commonly
known as 4601 Copperline Road.
The owner of the land, lying in Black
Township, is Larry Horton.
The Zoning Board approved the Special Use to
place a single wide mobile home in an
Agricultural District under Posey County
Zoning Ordinance 02-22-93.
The next request was a variance for Paul
Stofleth at 3601 St. Philip Road South, in
Marrs Township.
The land is owned by Paul and Esther
Stofleth, and affects .51 acres.
The board approved the variance to relax
yard requirements in an R-1 residential
district according to Section 8.03 under
Posey County Zoning Ordinance 02-22-93.
The final approved request was a Special Use
made by Sherri Wassmer for a one-operator
beauty shop to be located at 820 Zoar Church
Road, in Point Township.
The land is owned by Joseph and Sherri
Wassmer.
The Special Use for a one operator beauty
shop in an Agricultural District was
approved according to Posey County Ordinance
02-22-93.
The board denied a request from Ed Allen to
place a single wide mobile home at 10956
North Street in Cynthiana.
The land is also owned by Allen, whose
request was denied because it did not comply
with Cynthiana Zoning Ordinance 1992-07-14.
The board denied the request because of the
devaluation of surrounding property.
Anne Marie Hogan’s request for a Special Use
permit was also denied.
She requested the permit to place a single
wide mobile home at 2851 Blackburn Road, in
Black Township.
The landowner is Dennis Hogan. This is an
Agricultural District.
The board denied this request pursuant to
Posey County Zoning Ordinance 02-22-93.
The reason stated for the denial was also
because of the devaluation of surrounding
property.
