Robert O. Thiem, 82, of Wadesville, Ind., born to Robert F. and Dora (Gries) Thiem on July 27, 1930, in Alpena, Mich., passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
He worked for 46 years at Denton Construction, mostly in management and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and wintering in Florida.
Surviving are his daughter Roberta J. “Robbie” Newman and son Robert W. (Vicki) Thiem, both of Wadesville, Ind.; a step-sister, Karen Kaiser of Alpena, Mich.; two grandchildren: Ryan (Jennifer) Thiem of American Canyon, Calif., and Erin Guthrie of LaGrange, Ky., and four great grandchildren Johnathan, Elijah, Andrew and Nathaniel Guthrie.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife: Florence V. Thiem; brother: Donald K. Thiem and son-in-law: Rhett Newman.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at Immanuel Lutheran Church Evansville, Ind., with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Kirk Horstmeyer will officiate.
Visitation will be from 3 until 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the Werry Funeral Home, Poseyville Chapel and from 9 a.m., Wednesday until service time at the church.
