For the first time in 18-months, drug arrests topped alcohol-related arrests in Posey County in the month of April.

Last month, 22 drug-related arrests were posted by Posey County officers, while 20 people were incarcerated on alcohol-related charges.

Fourteen people were arrested for driving while intoxicated. No minors were arrested for possession. Six were arrested for public intoxication.

On the drug side, four meth labs were processed. Of those, three active labs were located, while one trash lab was found.

Meth labs were located on O’Donnell Road, Mackey Ferry Road, Old Lower Mount Vernon Road and Vienna Road.

To date, 54 people have been arrested for driving while intoxicated. Twenty-eight people were arrested for public intoxication. Twelve minors have been arrested on possession of alcohol charges.

Since the first of the year, 55 people have been incarcerated on drug-related charges. Twenty-four meth labs have been located and dismantled.
