For
the first time in 18-months, drug arrests
topped alcohol-related arrests in Posey
County in the month of April.
Last month, 22 drug-related arrests were
posted by Posey County officers, while 20
people were incarcerated on alcohol-related
charges.
Fourteen people were arrested for driving
while intoxicated. No minors were arrested
for possession. Six were arrested for public
intoxication.
On
the drug side, four meth labs were
processed. Of those, three active labs were
located, while one trash lab was found.
Meth labs were located on O’Donnell Road,
Mackey Ferry Road, Old Lower Mount Vernon
Road and Vienna Road.
To
date, 54 people have been arrested for
driving while intoxicated. Twenty-eight
people were arrested for public
intoxication. Twelve minors have been
arrested on possession of alcohol charges.
Since the first of the year, 55 people have
been incarcerated on drug-related charges.
Twenty-four meth labs have been located and
dismantled.
